I think of fall as more than Halloween especially w/ Thanksgiving coming. I liked the pumkin topiary!.. We have a vineyard nearby and after harvest they trim all the vines. Great for making wreathes and the leaves are still on to add color. Once you've made the wreath or even a garland (Twist in some lights for added decor') tuck in silk sunflowers or other fall colored flowers and add some ribbon. This looks great across a porch banister. Change out the flowers and ribbons and you can use for Christmas as well.

Supplies:

Any kind of tin can, washed and dried
White gauze
Craft glue
Wiggly eyes
Packing tape, opt.

Directions:

-Wrap a 2 -2 1/2 foot strip of gauze around the can, first you tape the end to the can and then as you wrap the gauze around the can twist and turn the gauze to give it some dimension.

-When you have completely covered the can, cut the gauze and tuck the end under a layer.

-Next glue on 2 wiggly eyes.

We made a Thanksgiving count down for M:

I cut out 26 leaf shapes and my husband numbered them on one side and wrote things we're thankful for on the other. I strung them all on thread and taped it to the wall so M can turn one over each day and read it.
