Ornament wreath - you could get ornaments to make one of these from the dollar store and make it really inexpensively.

Buy those cheap plain colored felt Christmas stockings and some sheets of different colored felt and some craft glue.
Take the sheets of felt and cut out different shapes, sizes, you could do stripes, polka dots, let your imagination go and then just glue them on the stocking.
This craft is so easy that the kids will love it! You could even do one every year with them just to see how they have changed with their ideas or how about putting their hand on it.

You can even add some cheap ribbon, bows, jingle bells, use glitter glue, the possibilities are endless.

Supplies:

-8 oz plastic container
-Holiday foam shapes
-Paint brush
-Pencil
-Sheet of paper (I used a scrap piece)
-Scrap cardboard
-Wide holiday ribbon (leftovers, can find at garage sales, thrift stores, dollar stores)
-School glue, tacky glue
-Scissors
-Scraps of Christmas paper
-Can also use stickers, stampers, glitter
-You can also adorn the top with ribbons or bows

Instructions:

-Cut ribbon into 10 1/2 inch strips, or to fit around the container.
-Use paint brush to coat side of container with glue all the way around and place ribbon around it, hold for a few seconds. Put aside to dry.
-Take lid, put sheet of paper on top and trace inner circle, trace this onto cardboard and you have a pattern to cut out circles from Christmas paper, do this while your containers are drying. Use brush to apply glue to inside circle on top and put your cut Christmas circle on it.

-When containers are dry, you can use the foam stick on stickers to decorate it.

Sharpie ornaments... you can do amazing things with cheap ornaments and colored permanent markers or paint pens. You could also decorate ceramic ornaments like this. It's practically mess free.

You can also use sharpies to personalize ornaments, such as to write the year or a name on then.

Last year we got a blue ornament with a snowman, falling snow, a little cabin and tree drawn on it in permanent marker. I'd share a picture, but M smashed it

Take clear glass ball ornaments from the dollar store. Use Elmer's or crafts glue to make a very simple design on it, like polka dots. Then, lightly sprinkle fine glitter over the glue and gently shake off excess. Do one side at a time, so that the first side dries completely before you do the second. Tie a pretty ribbon on the top of the ornament.

Fill hurricane glass, clear vases or bowls with "natural" materials from your yard. Pinecones, acorns, twigs, moss, etc., and either use ribbon for a finishing touch or include some small, inexpensive glass ball ornaments in the mix.
