What can we do with all those free photos we're getting from the 50 free prints offers out there? Share your ideas for homemade photo gifts here.

Here are some:

make a puzzle

photo rubik's cube

magnetic frames

bookplates

Memory game: here and here are some examples

I also made a puzzle by gluing a picture to a large magnet (an ad one that came stuck to the phone book) and cutting it into 9 squares so M can play with it on the fridge.

One thing that I like to do is take a picture frame that I have on hand or pick one up from a second hand store and repaint the frame if it is wood to the persons favorite color/colors and then do a collage of pictures inside.

For my Sister and her DH's anniversary I took a frame that was divided into 9 seperate sections and put in different pictures from different years (their Prom, Wedding, current couple pic., when their daughter was born, current family pic, 1st anniversary pic and in the center I did a "Love" quote and for each picture I did a scrapbook type decorating), my Sister really loved it.

You can also do a decoupe on a plate or a keepsake box.

My daughter and I made placemats. They turned out so well! We cut a piece of tagboard into large rectangles (14x20), using a placemat we already had as a guideline. Then, dd arranged beach photos from our Florida vacation on them and glued them down.

To finish, I took them to Kinkos to have them laminated. The cost was $3.00/sq. foot. The large ones I made came out to be $6/each, but if we had made smaller ones they would have cost in the $4.50 range. Also, if you have access to a laminator they'd be practically free!

If I made them again, I'd do reversible ones. I wish I had thought of that to begin with! However, we like them so much we may make other ones for our family to keep.

Here are some pictures:

Another one I have made in years past is custom photo cubes. Buy the unfinished wood cubes at your craft store (they're about $1 each) and then use Modge-Podge to adhere the photos to the cubes. You'll need to allow plenty of drying time after the project is finished (it can take 2-3 days for them to completely dry). Either do cubes with small individual photos, or you can cut a photo in fourths and do a "puzzle" type cube. Both are really cute, and great for Dad's desk or to give grandparents.

My daughter and I spotted these cute calendars at Target's Dollar Spot yesterday. Just add your own 4x6 photos to create a custom made gift! The calendar we purchased has a spot each month to add a horizontal photo. We are going back to get some more for friends and family. Plus, you can take advantage of some of the free print offers listed below to make this even more affordable.
