I'm not sure if it qualifies as a hobby but I want to put together a photo montage with some music to give my sister for Mothers Day. I'm starting it now so I have plenty of time to get all the pictures loaded and set up in my computer.
My problem is that I having trouble finding cute/sentimental mommy songs to play in the background. If you have any suggestions, please list both the song title and artist so I can find it easier. Thank you.

I don't know if it qualifies as a mommy song....but the first thing that came to my mind was "Through the Years"...I know Kenny Rogers did a version of it, not sure if he was the original artist though.

Artist/Band: Rogers Kenny
Lyrics for Song: Through The Years
Lyrics for Album: 20 Golden Greats
I can't remember when you weren't there
When I didn't care for anyone but you
I swear we've been through everything there is
Can't imagine anything we've missed
Can't imagine anything the two of us can't do
Through the year, you've never let me down
You turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
I've never been afraid, I've loved the life we've made
And I'm so glad I've stayed, right here with you
Through the years
I can't remember what I used to do
Who I trusted whom, I listened to before
I swear you've taught me everything I know
Can't imagine needing someone so
But through the years it seems to me
I need you more and more
Through the years, through all the good and bad
I knew how much we had, I've always been so glad
To be with you ... Through the years
It's better everyday, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years
Through the years, when everything went wrong
Together we were strong, I know that I belonged
Right here with you ... Through the years
I never had a doubt, we'd always work things out
I've learned what love's about, by loving you
Through the years
Through the years, you've never let me down
You've turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
It's better everyday, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years!

I love Josh Groban
"You Raise Me Up"
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

A Song for Momma by Boyz II Men is another really good one.
Song for Momma
You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I always keep it inside
You're the driving force in my life, yeah
There isn't anything
Or anyone that I can be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side
You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
You'll always be you always will be the girl
In my life for all times
Momma, momma you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Momma, momma you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Momma, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Yes it is, Yes it is, Ohh Yes it is
Yes it is, Yes it is, Ohhh
You're always down for me
Have always been around for me
even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong
Yes you did
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on
There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you come to me
And say to me I can face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl in my life
Oh Ohhhhh
Momma, momma you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Momma, momma you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Momma, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Never gonna grow a day without you
Fills me up just thinking about you
I'll never go a day with out my mommma
Momma, momma you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Momma, momma you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Momma, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Your the food to my soul
Yes you are!

Here is one more. I made a DVD for my mom 2 years ago so I have plenty of songs. Let me know if you need more.
Barry Manilow
I Am Your Child
I am your child.
Wherever you go, you take me, too.
Whatever I know, I learn from you.
Whatever I do, you taught me to do.
I am your child.
And I am your chance.
Whatever will come, will come from me.
Tomorrow is won, by winning me.
Whatever I am, you taught me to be.
I am your hope,
I am your chance,
I am your child.
Whatever I am, you taught me to be.
I am your hope,
I am your chance,
I am your child.

Butterfly Kisses is more for a Father / Daughter... BJ Thomas has a song called Mama...that is great, but might be hard to find (and it's abvout a mother and son) , "In My Daughter's eyes" by Martina Mc Bride is beautiful (if it's more from daughters) ...I hope you Dance by Leanne Womack is a good one, Through the Years by Kenny Rogers is a good one,(mentioned). I did a video montage of my kids set to Somewhere over the Rainbow, but for the life of me I have no idea who does it (It starts off with woo, hoo )It's also on a rice crispy commercial my daughter just informed me

Don't laugh but Backstreet Boys have a song called The Perfect Fan - written and sung by Brian Littrell for his mother (off their Millenium CD). It's very sweet.
It takes a lot to know what is love
It's not the big things, but the little things
That can mean enough
A lot of prayers to get me through
And there is never a day that passes by
I don't think of you
You were always there for me
Pushing me and guiding me
Always to succeed
Chorus:
You showed me
When I was young just how to grow
You showed me
Everything that I should know
You showed me
Just how to walk without your hands
Cause mom you always were
The perfect fan
God has been so good
Blessing me with a family
Who did all they could
And I've had many years of grace
And it flatters me when I see a smile on your face
I wanna thank you for what you've done
In hopes I can give back to you
And be the perfect son
Chrous
You showed me how to love
You showed me how to care
And you showed me that you would
Always be there
I wanna thank you for that time
And I'm proud to say you're mine
Chrous
Cause mom you always were
Mom you always were
Mom you always were
You know you always were
Cause mom you always were
The perfect fan
I love you mom
