I was wondering if anyone has a good idea for a Valentine's craft. I would like to make a cute little craft to give to the kiddos in my daughters preschool class. I am not real creative but I am a good copycat so if you have any ideas with directions that would be great.

My ds had the same student in his class for 4 years and every holiday the mother would buy inexpensive wood shapes (for that particular season) paint them and personalize them for each student in the class, she then used magnets (that you get from companies or elsewhere for free) and glued them to the back of the wood decoration.

It was really a neat idea and not really expensive. You can usually pick up the wood shapes for .10 - .25.

I saw this really cute idea for a Card - would be great for the kids to give to their parents.

I Love You This Much Card:

Trace and cut out each of the child's handprints
Cut a big heart and write "I love you this much" on it.
Have the child stand with both arms outstreached. Using ribbon, measure the distance and cut the length of ribbon showing the span.
Glue one hand on the end of each side of ribbon
Glue the heart in the middle.

Fold the hand toward the middle and put in an envelope.

I thought this was super cute and we are going to make them for Grandparents for Valentine's day. Could easily be done by a class to give to the kids parents too.

Family Fun has some cute ideas! I was looking at the magazine last night...also check out Martha Stewart, they have cute ideas and boards with members typing in their ideas.

You really have to click around at Family Fun to see everything, they have a lot of cute ideas. Family Fun had a cute idea to use old crayons to melt in heart shaped tins, and use puffy tape to attach to a piece of construction paper for the card. I don't see it right off on the site, let me know if you want me to key it in for you!

Wait! Found it!

Just like the family fun website, you have to click around to find all the info at MSL...it can be frustrating sometimes!

I was having difficulty coming up with an idea for a craft for my dd's preschool class (3 years old). I came up with- chenile pipe cleaners, pony beads (the bigger kid finger friendly beads) and ribbon. Put the beads on the chenile piping and form it into a heart. Then use some ribbon to make a necklace out of it. If you decide to do this- don't go to Micheals- they did not have the type of beads needed- they had them at Joanne's.
