I could NOT find any type of Dora sheets for dd's toddler bed. Someone bought her one of the fuzzy fleece throws that had Dora on it and says "ADORAble" at the bottom for Christmas...so I decided to tackle the feat myself.

I bought a regular pink crib sheet and then some Dora fabric. I made the top sheet with a pocket at the bottom so it slips on over the end of the mattress and won't come off...I didn't judge very well and didn't have a piece of fabric large enough to complete the pillowcase, so I just made a quilted top and a solid pink backing on the pillowcase. Both ends of the pillowcase are open...I sewed ribbons on to tie them closed...the ribbon looks red in the photo, but it is actually hot pink like Dora's pants on the fabric.

Whole set:

Pillow case end:

Excuse the mess...the older two girls were cleaning out their closet and well...the bookshelf is always a mess.

Thanks, ladies!! I was pretty excited. I got the idea to tie the pillow case ends from a sheet set oldest dd got for Christmas. One end of her pillowcase is open and ties...so I thought I'd do both ends of Abby's. It was super duper easy...It took about an hour and a half to do the entire top sheet and pillowcase. It would have been way quicker if one wanted to do a solid pillowcase instead of the quilt pieced one.

That is so cute. You daughter must love it! I know my little girl would be so estatic to have a Dora bedding set. I know what you mean about not being able to find one. I've found a couple sets but they're so expencive.
That really is a great idea!
Thanks for sharing it with us!!

I could be wrong, but I THINK this Dora fabric was $2.97 a yard at Wal-Mart. It could've been $3.97, I can't remember! Either way, I have less than $12 in the entire set because the throw was a gift.
