My husband bought me a dollhouse kit for my birthday last year, and I am still working on it, but I love it. I just had a baby, so I had to put it on hold for a little while, but pretty soon I'll be able to get back to it during naps. I'm thinking the most fun part will be making accessories for the house.

No, but I was so much as a kid - we couldn't afford anything in the store, so I made my parts from things around the house.

I have and 18 month daughter, so I know I'll be getting back into it again!!!!!! I've already been pricing out nice dollhouses. It's definitely an ....um....investment!

I put together a doll house kit when I was a kid. Oh-lord, I think it looks kind of shabby now that I am much older....but I had a BLAST doing mine! It is a really fun hobby! I even bought miniature furniture! I used to buy a lot of it from Michaels. I also remember that a Minatures show would come to our 4H building for shows. They were inspiring and also sold things for your doll house!

Now, my miniature furniture is all boxed up and I keep begging my Dad to toss out the doll house!!! I might start up the hobby again some day.

I'm not into dollhouses, but I do collect scale-model horses and related accessories (people, animals, fencing, trees, etc) to make little scenes with. Have you seen the catalog from miniatures.com ? They've got tons of neat things, and they send out discounts in their email newsletter.

Dollhouse things are most often 1:12 scale. Most of what I collect is 1:9 scale and 1:32, which are harder to find accessories in, so most of what I have is things I've made myself.
