My personal weeding challenge is to do 1 flower bed a week. 3 of my beds are out of control.. I find it hard to just get it done. So I have marked my calender 1 a week while maintain the others. Just a personal goal to get things under control and make it look better along the road side.

Thats a good goal, you must have a green thumb. I only have a small flower bed in the front of the house. I pull the weeds as I see them.

Have you ever used Preen? Pull the weeds then sprinkle it on the ground around your plants. It will prevent weed from coming up. You can't use it around newly planted seeds. It has worked great in my front area. I am forever pulling up morning glory!

We're in a new house, to us anyway, and I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant. My personal goal for the summer was to maintain the yard that was already here and put in a garden. I try to get a flowerbed weeded a week right now. I have half of my front yard weeded but not the other half.

I weed as I plant my annuals. I clear the small area I am planting in and then slowly complete it. It is not going as fast this time around being pregnant....little one just took her foot out of my rib cage about 2 weeks ago and I am getting my energy back to do things. I don't get to many weeds because I put down some wood mulch.

I told my hubby I need him to do one of my gardens for me.

Any one know of a good weed killer that does not kill hostas, irises or daffodils?

Jen

That is a good goal.

The worst part about spring is having to pull all the weeds that try to take over my flower beds. Thankfully this year with the help of dh and the kids were able to get all of the weeds pulled and new mulch put down in one weekend. Now I just have to find to time to keep them maintained. Dh was just complaining that even though our grass hasn't been gowing too well, the weeds are still coming up like crazy.

I have 3 that are out of control. Hey I took pics? One was the duck nest home. I have one that is overrun by Lily of the Valley, and I have 2 that are so filled in with plants that weeds don't get very big. and one small one that just needs the regular weeding.

I don't usually buy "products" to use for weeds, I have way too big a yard for that. I just use mulch to keep weeds at bay.
