DH, DD and I decided that we would do her room pink, black, and white poka dot style. We have the iron room set, and we are getting her a black comforter and some pink and white throws and such. I am goign to recover the chair to the vanity with a black material with bright pink poka dots on it.
Here is what i am wondering about now. We are going to leave the baseboards white (a lot of this was determined because i don't want to be squatted down that much painting lol) We are painting the walls the bright pink color to match the poka dots on the material, and whoa is it super bright! Should i do some black and white circles on the walls to break up that bright pink? WE are putting up a really cute border around the top that is white with black poka dots (to tie in the white baseboards) Will the iron bedroom set adn the border break it up enough? Or shoudl we paint some black and white on the walls somewhere???
I am working primarily outside for the next couple of days and then start her room, so any ideas would be awesome!!!

My DD room is Hot Pink.. VERY BRIGHT!! White baseboards and crown molding.. Hot Pink comferter set and print toppers.. We do have white furniture..

Nothing on the walls..[long story] But I think the furniture will break it up enough.. Or you could add a few shelves white wood w/ wrough iron.. Or you could make a pin board [forgot the real name] with some extra fabric from the vanity chair, criss cross ribbon and sge could put picture on it or metals from differant sports... This way if you don't like it in a year it can come down. Instead of having to paint walls again..

I can't wait to hear all about the finished room!! Does your dd have any ideas???

ohoh I wanna see pics when it is done....
I would suggest either doing a poka dot wall..... diffrent sizes here and there ...
Or useing them as accents around the door, window corners etc. Hope that makes sense.

I think that the furniture and the border should be fine. That is going to be so cute when you're done.

I would say that the furniture and border would be fine, too. Will you hang any shelves or art on the walls? If so, that would also break up the pink a bit.

My daughters room is pink on the walls, white trim and black furniture. To add some accents we changed some of her favorite photo into blk and white ones on our computer and blew them up a little and framed them with inexpensive blk frames that we got from wal-mart. We grouped them into a square of four. It was a cheep way to add the black to the walls with out adding paint. We also found a cheep full length mirror with a black frame and a large cork board that we painted the frame on and added fabric to. After a few trips to the $ store, discount store and hobby stores we were able to pick up all kinds of cute things to accent the room with. Good luck and have fun.
