I have frequent visitors to my backyard .Those are groundhogs .
I have not done anything in my backyard and this year I am really serious to keep them away from visint my garden

I got 1 caught in trap ..but still there few more and I dont think trapping them is going to help me since there might be couple of those

Is there some easier way for them to stay away from my garden and backyard like planting some specific plants or putting something in yard

Thanks in Advance

My MIL has the same problem. They live under her shed and eat all the plants. My FIL and DH tried to scare them away with a BB gun. Never worked. BUT...she told me a friend of hers told her to put out BUBBLE GUM, yes BUBBLE GUM. They love sweets and they'll eat the gum and won't be able to digest it and die. I don't know if you want to go to these extremes. HTH

I wish I had a solution for you. I am in the same boat. I'm not sure what we have, I just know we have something making tunnels in our yard and play area.

Peppermint will do the trick. I planted peppermint around the entrance to my garden and it keeps our groundhogs out. Someone on freecycle asked for tips and I gave her some peppermint and she said she saw him come sniff the plant and took off. Rodents do not like mint for some reason!

One word of caution- peppermint takes over everything and is hardy so plant it where you don't care if it takes over or put it in containers. It is a perennial and comes back stronger each year.

Good luck! I have also heard they don't like cayenne pepper but have not treid it since the mint has worked. Good luck!!!

Check out this link... Groundhog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia they dig a burrow to protect and hide in.

Now check out this link... Mole - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia they tunnel and leave little hills or tuffs in your yard.

I have a mole problem in my yard, in our soybean fields we have groundhog/woodchuck problems.

We have gotten 2 moles so far but by the looks of things we have a whole lot more to get.
