When you go to your friend's house and you find out its much dirtier than yours and when you come home you spend a lot of time cleaning and criticizing your friends for living like animals but you can't even seem to have a "clean" house yourself? Sometimes that's me. WE have a friend that doesn't even bother cleaning up her house. As soon as you walk in you can smell all sorts of stinky odor sort of walking into a house full of dead skunk :-( She has papers everywhere, clothes on the floor, dirty dishes, etc..At first I didn't think of it much until she told me that she hadn't wash her comforter in 5 months and one of her kids asked her if she has any clean socks to wear then she told her to put on one of the dirty ones because she didn't do laundry in two weeks I wasn't much of clean freak until I walked in into their house. Then I realized that little stuff does count like dirty dishes and dog hair. Sad but I'm starting to become a clean freak because of what I saw from my friend's house. Sometimes though, I just let it go its hard when you have little ones at home but I wouldn't have my house smelling like a dead skunk either.

Ummm...you'd have to ask my friends that question.

With 4 cats, one with irritable bowel syndrome, I figure I'm ahead of the game if I'm not cleaning vomit off the floor or poop off the walls.

Every time I go to my mils I come home and take a shower , then I clean my own house. But after I spend a few days locked up in my house I start to feel like its dirty , so I just go over and get a look at my mils to remind myself that my house isnt all that bad.
Now my mom on the other hand, makes Martha Stewart look lazy.

No I don't have any friends like that. Sometimes when I go to my bf house it looks like her house is cleaner than mine.

I have a friend who is a horrible housekeeper - she is SAHM with 4 kids aged 7, 8, 8, 13. I usually start cleaning while I'm there, we will tackle a room or a task. She had me convinced that it was impossible to keep up on the work - until I kept her kids for 5 days at her house while she and DH went away for their anniversary. I had no trouble keeping the house clean and spent plenty of time with the kids. I even got them to help and to clean up after themselves. I never said anything to her about it, I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

Sadly we do have a friend like that. Her house is so umm nasty I have only been in there 3 or 4 times and can not stand the idea of stepping foot in there again. Horror stories should be filmed at her house. 3 weeks worth of dishes in the kitchen, moldy food set on tv trays in the living room, garbage can over flowed on the floor in what looks like 2-3 weeks of garbage. Enough pizza boxes to build a 800 sq foot house of -- just sitting on the floor and counter. But the WORST is the bathroom. Seriously I dont know how you could use it. Litter box is in front of the tub and she laughed and said -- Yea sometimes they miss. There was poop on the floor! Litter everwhere. Toliet was black inside from not being scrubbed. Clothes on the floor, tub -- I think you would be cleaner without a bath.

Sorry went on a little bit there. I do come home complaining about her house and strive to keep mine in proper order. Seriously if the dishwasher skips a day of being run in my house I am paniced.

I second that! I have a hard time with 3 boys, one of them special needs, but I get the trash out, a load of dishes through the dishwasher and at least one load of laundry every day. Those are just basics in my house. Even if it is cluttered and unorganized, there are no "science projects" hiding anywhere.
