Ya, this is random but I am curious .... How many loads of dishes do you wash in a day?

I only ask because lately our family of three (though we're about to be four!) has been running about 2 loads a day! Does that seem high to anyone else? Yesterday I actually did three! But that was special because I unpacked (yes we're still unpacking) a box full of dishes. On the bright side of things I also figure that it might mean we're eating out less.

We are a family of 4, and I do a load a day. But I guess it would depend on how big the meals are you are cooking. Sometimes I do more than that, other times I don't even have enough for a whole load.

I usually do at least two, but there are days that I do more. It just depends. I soak my breakfast dishes until I have the lunch dishes. Than I do the dinner dishes; that always seems to take on load just by itself. I have a family of five, so it just depends on what we eat for each meal. If you do cold cereal for breakfast, than you wont have that many breakfast dishes, but if you do eggs, bacon, etc. Than sometimes it is easy to fill up the dishwasher with just all breakfast dishes.

We are a family of six, and I usually do two loads a day. We eat 95% of our meals at home as DH works from home most days and I am a SAHM. Also, I handwash all pots and pans. Some days I get by with one load, but others I'll have three. So, it averages out to two/day in the end anyway. HTH

I suspected that I was doing too many but was just curious where everyone else was. I rarely wash anything by hand -- unless it just doesn't fit in the dishwasher or it is a special item that I wash by hand. Maybe I will start washing the pans by hand. I also think we all probably grab a different glass everytime we get a glass of water or something.

Thanks for the insight!

we are a family of 3 and run ours everyother day sometimes it is ever 3 days. The onlyting that goes in the dishwasher tho is cuttingboards, plates, bowels (just ones that come with your dishes set), cup/glasses, utensels. Everything else gets washed by had. all the pots and pans and anthing that goes in the oven. My pot and pans can not go in the dishwasher nice set wanting to keep nice, and anything I bake in just never gets clean enough in the dishwasher for me. Also we use the same glass all day unless it has milk in it. Most of the time it is just water anyways. dd has enough sippy cups to where we use 2 a day and usually it is time to run the dishwaher when she runs out.
