DH and I came upon this median that had a row of rare "Shoe Trees" DH is somewhat of an expert on trees - he had never seen them before. We snapped a few pictures and added 2 pair of our sneakers that we used for creek stomping the day before. A few yards down the road we saw a man outside weeding his garden, we stopped and asked him about the trees. He said no one knows who started it - one day there was a pair hanging from a branch - a week later several. We counted at least 100 pairs in just one of the trees.

I forgot to say this was in northern NY near the Canadian border. We had gone for a drive after a family reunion we were attending. We were lost, wandering back roads hoping to find a road with a route number that was on the map before we ran out of gas. The trees cut the tension and gave us with a fun story and wacky pictures.

Oh that is so funny! Our local paper just had an article about a man that has been hanging coffee mugs in his tree. At last count there were 3000. He and a friend would have coffee under the tree and leave there mugs. He used a nail and hung them up and a tradition started. Funny how things get started! Great picture.

Here is my favorite summer photo so far this year. It is my son swimming in our new above ground pool.

OK, here's mine! This is Matt, last summer, at the zoo. He was 2 here.

edit: sorry about the graininess. My husband tends to edit the pictures to put on the internet. He has a site of all our family stuff.
