Girls would there be inay interest in starting and Arts & Crafts thread for ideas to amuse preschoolers upwards and keep them occupied.

Just ideas from what you might have around the house ie paper plates, drinking straws, match sticks, pipe cleaners etc.

Ive a ton of ideas if anyone would be interested and maybe we could give each other new ideas too?

Great thats two Im an optimist

Im in work so Ill post when I get home

Hopefully everyone has paper plates at home? All the better if they are plain white ones if not dont worry. But for paint to stick on patterned ones remember you will have to size them first. Its simple enough you just "paint" them with liquid glue before you paint them with colours!

I have a few ideas and Ill start simple

meanwihile if any other reader has ideas please post I dont want to hog this

There is always a need to keep kids busy in my house. I look forward to hearing everyone's great ideas. Once all my stuff gets out of storage, I will post some too.

I love this idea, thanks Anne!

One of my favorite crafts was making bugs out of rocks. First I let the boys go hunting for a nice roundish rock. Then I let them paint them and decorate them to look like bugs. We then made beautiful wings out of a coffee filter. Tie dye them with food color diluted in water. Just put one drop at a time and watch the colors mix and change. After letting them dry I tied them in the middle and hot glued them on for them. We made pipe cleaner antenias too with pom poms and I hot glued them on thier heads.

The kids loved doing each step and watching them all come together in the end. I have them proudly displayed in my living room. We have ladybugs and grasshoppers. If the kids want to give the ladybugs as gifts, a cute idea is to put a tag on them that says, "I'm so lucky to have a special friend like you" (or teacher, mom ....)

thats an absolute cracker of an idea. I love it. thanks for posting. Its 3pm here and Im working till 5.30 I cant wait to get home and check what I post (I want it to be right)

Perhaps this is something we can keep running and we would have seasonal craft ideas to keep the kids of all ages amused (might even involved DHs and teens too)

I can only post directions to my crafts, I dont have a digital camera yet but if anyone can post a pic of the finished suggestion that might be a good thing to do for any visually challanged (I.E. me ) people interested in this

Another SUPER SUPER SUPER idea here at mommysavers. I am always needing crafty stuff to do for church stuff, and my little boys love to do crafts. With winter coming up, I will need some stuff to keep them busy. Christmas crafts would be good to, or holidays in general. I'm lovin it!!!!
