im trying to get organized myself...its not easy. the one thing that i have done consistently is keeping a tote in dawsons closet so when he cant wear something anymore, it goes directly in it. plus once a month i go thru his toys and put the ones that hes outgrown in a tote or a box and seal it up and put it downstairs....i keep it all still since i plan on having another one in the near future.

I don't know if anyone read Family Circle this month, but there was a great organizing tip.
Hang a shoe bag over the inside of your hall closet door. In the each pocket stick the kids gloves, hats, umbrella's, scarves. It works soo great! I got the organizer for $9.98 at Walmart and put my youngest DS's stuff on the bottom holders so he could reach easily, then my middle DD's... and so on. Now when the kids want to go outside they know exactly where their mittens and hats are, and where to put them when they are done. I love it

That's funny! I never read that before but about a year ago I saw a shoe holder that hangs on the closet rod for $3 at our local discount store it has 8 little shelves and I thought it would be perfect for my husbands baseball hats, and we use it for that and baby shoes. Gee I thought I was the only one!

I have a palm for all of my lists and appointments. I also like to write things down on paper so we have a family calendar too (DH hardly uses his palm so what's the point of beaming to him) once a month I will make sure everything on the family calendar is on the Palms in case we need to reference when so and so had their 6 month check up. Palm users, do you use handyshopper, it's great for grocery lists, to do lists, etc. I  it!

I LOVE the thought of lists. I can't seem to get started on making a great list. Is anyone willing to send me what they have so I can get my creative list juices flowing???

I am bound and determined to get things to a place whrere I don't feel like I have to choose between quality time with the kids today or getting my housework done.

Anything you have will be helpful to the Mommy stuck in the box!

I would have to say that I am terrible at organizing. The complete opposite of my mother! She doesn't have a speck of dust or anything extra out that she doesn't need. You would have thought that I would turn out like her, growing up with that and all. I am now finally working at getting rid of things, but at my own pace. It's hard with doing day care in my home. I am just working at one spot at a time and when I have the energy. I don't want to make it a stressful thing. I have to say that the two things that help me the most are my calendar and my computer. I try to put all dates in the calendar and some things on the fridge that are coming soon and all my day care work is in the computer and backed up frequently. I want to try and minimalize everything and not need so much. Garage sale is coming up and I can't wait to get rid of a ton of stuff and give away what doesn't sell!
Oh yes, another thing I just did is get rid of the big computer desk and computer and now I use a laptop instead. Boy, I can't believe all the extras we keep on a computer desk and all the space I have now!
