I caught a little bit of Supernanny last night and the mom cleaned house all day long, pretty much ignoring her children, who she thought were naughty. I realized I spend a lot of time cleaning, too. Since I started staying home, I want the house to be perfect for my husband, I don't want him to think I just sit around all day, so I work work work. I don't play with the boys enough. My almost 2 year old is becoming more of a "monster" every day. My 6 month old is crawling now. I do flylady, but I add stuff to the routines and then take breaks on the computer periodically throughout the day. The television is becoming my babysitter, something I SWORE I would never let happen.

So I am taking a day off. Not from the kids, but from cleaning. I can't do it this week because we're in the kitchen and there's a lot to clean in the kitchen every month, but next week is the bathroom, mine is small and I can probably get it all done in two days. So next Tuesday is my Cleaning day off. On Monday I am going to get everything caught up--laundry, included--and the only housework I will do on Tuesday are the dishes and picking up after ourselves. Heck, I might even turn off my alarm and just get up when the boys are awake! (That's pushing it.)

I'm only telling you this so I can stick to it and not change my mind.

Saw the show last night as well. Plan to make changes around my home too so that I make sure I spend more quality time with the kids instead of putting on the movies for them to watch.

Ok I DON'T get enough cleaning in but I feel like if I stay around the house all day I don't have any excuses to not have a clean house. So my daughter and I go out and DO something everyday. Yesterday we went to the park with some other moms, Tomorrow I am having a play date at my house, Thurday we are going to a park with a wading pool maybe dip our toes in if its warm enough, Friday a friends house for breakfast. I keep my calendar jammed packed with things. I am in 4 moms Meetup groups to make sure I have something to go to everyday. That way if I feel Like I am ignoring DD I spent time to go out and do something. I don't think my house will ever be clean because of it but it does make me a happier person and Bethy loves playing with other kids.

I saw part of the show last night too and her house was beautiful and very well-kept. I did feel sorry for the kid who didn't want to get fingerpaint on his hands. I make my son watch the show with me so he see other kids' bad behavior in action.

I wish my house looked like that but not at the expense of time with my kids!

I do the same thing. I have my older kids watch the show 9 and 7. I wish my home was show home perfect. But then I realize I need to play more with my kids. Pretty soon they are going to grow up and leave home Then I can do all the cleaning I want.

This is me. We have a tiny apartment though, so I just spent about 1/2 hour every day cleaning a couple things. My daughter will sit with me while I fold laundry or watch in the high chair if I'm in the kitchen. Otherwise I do it during nap times. I don't know what I'll do once we have a house and more children! Hopefully hubby will lower his expectations.
