Default Do you do most of your cleaning in the daytime or nighttime hours?

Once upon a time, when I only had a few children, I did most of it at night. It was just easier to put them in bed and clean up. Now, though, I am EXHAUSTED at night....and I just can't do it anymore! That is part of why I started the cleaning challenges, and I have to say, they have helped me SO much get motivated. Even if I only get 1/2 of the list done, it is a CHUNK of the BIG stuff, so it makes my life SO much nicer and less stressful!

Before kids I was nighttime cleaner. I would stay up really late cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc. Dh and I were famous for rearranging rooms around very late at night too. Now I do my best when I can get right to it in the morning.

I do some cleaning during the day (like vacuuming all the dog hair off the carpet upstairs in the bedrooms & playroom), but most is done at night. With the boys going around behind me taking out twice as much as I put away, it is just too hard to try to do it when they're awake! It took me over an hour this morning to pick up the playroom floor (it wasn't even that bad since we make them clean it up before they go to bed at night) & vacuum because of all the "help" I was getting! This is why my house is a disaster most of the time!

Sometimes I do cleaning during the day-but I work outside the home. Sometimes I will come home & do a little bit at lunch. Tonight dh & I worked together on the kitchen while the kids were still up. I can clean better when the kids are up if my dh helps me.

i do several spurts of cleaning each day. 20 mins in the morning, 20 mins after lunch, 30 mins during naps, 10 mins around 5pm, and 10 mins before i go to bed. I find that this keeps thngs from being out of control. It also keeps me from hyper cleaning and ignoring the bedlam! Also, I find that by the end of the day I'm exhausted and just want to go to bed, but can talk myself into 10 mins of straightening up so that I wake up to a realtively clean house...

Definately daytime...once dinnertime hits, I'm not doing any hardcore cleaning. I do pick up things continally all day long, but I don't call that 'cleaning'.

Before the Ds wakes up that's when I do my cleaning. Otherwise you can forget about it. He demands a lot of attention from me. I hate to clean and him bugging me. I normally do my 15 mins clean up before I head to bed each night. It works for me. Cuts my cleaning time during the morning.

Daytime here as well. I do a lot of cleaning on the fly - like I'll be in the bathroom and notice the sink is looking like it needs a freshening - and I'll just get out the cleanser and do it. Ditto the toilets. I always clean it before it gets too bad. I use baby wipes a lot where I used to use anti-bacterial wipes. First the chemicals hurt my hands, and then I stopped using anything anti-bacterial except the kitchen when I've been working with raw meat and poultry. So now after ds is done brushing his teeth and getting into his pj's, I'll go into his bathroom and just use an unscented baby wipe and clean up around the sink, etc. Works just as well, no chemicals and non-antibacterial.

I used to prefer to do everything at night, but now after dinner all I want to do is spend time with my family and then crash...so cleaning at that time isn't really working out for me anymore I switched to daytime. I get more done plus have plenty of time for the family.
