I HATE to iron. I am not good at it and it would take me all day to get his shirts ironed.
I'd love to hear what you girls are doing !!!
I iron all of Dh's shirts, slacks, khakis etc It's important for him to look professional at work, and I don't have a problem doing it for him. I don't mind ironing though...and I may be old fashioned but I do everything in the 'house'...and that includes ironing. I just consider it my 'job'. I know not everyone sees things that way but it works for me and Dh!

I have taken shirts to the cleaners to be pressed only and I can't really recall what the cost was...hmmm...maybe $1 per shirt or something?

When I wash his clothes, I put them in the dryer for a few minutes and then hang the shirts up on hangers. They're still damp and fairly wrinkle free at this point...so when I iron, they're a breeze. I also use starch.

When we got married I told dh either he could buy 100% cotton shirts and iron them himself, or he could buy a blend that would be wash and dry and wear. He opted for the easy-care. I have a million things I'd rather do than iron, and I can't even think of the last time I pulled the thing out. Probably to do those fusible bead pictures!

I know some people find it relaxing, but truthfully my idea of relaxing does not include me dragging out the ironing board and ironing!! That's what my mother used to call 'work' and that's still what I call it!

I'm afraid I have no tips for you. We got rid of both of our irons when we got married. We just don't use them. But, neither of us wears clothes that require them. If we did, then I think that we would just take turns doing it, like we do the laundry. I personally wouldn't spend the money to have them dry cleaned, but can see how that would be a useful service to other people.
