I'm looking for tips about keeping DH's shirts ironed. So far I just don't do it and I thought DH would. Nope, he just wears them all wrinkled to work thinking that the wrinkles will smooth out on their own. LOL....poor guy.

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone takes their clean shirts to a Dry Cleaner to have them ironed only? I was wondering if it becomes a huge expense or not.

I HATE to iron. I am not good at it and it would take me all day to get his shirts ironed.
I'd love to hear what you girls are doing !!!

He wears the shirts, he should iron them. If he chooses not to, then that it his choice to look wrinkled and messy. It's not your problem. So, I'd say, just keep doing what you are doing and let him make the decision. You can tell him that he don't think it looks very nice, but if he decides not to iron them, then so be it.

I iron DH's shirt and pants at 5:30 am every morning. He is a store manager, and has to wear dress pants and shirt. I don't mind, I am proud of the way my DH looks all the time.

IF they really need ironing (and I mean REALLY) then I will do it. Otherwise they just get thrown back in the dryer for a "touch up" to get the wrinkles out. Luckily, though, DH works in a casual environment.

DH takes all his clothes to the cleaners, all I get is the underclothes and socks and gym clothes to wash. He has to dress up everyday and ends up having to wear suits or atleast a tie 3 times a week for meetings with major clients.

DH irons his own shirts. I don't like to do it, and I'm not very good at getting the sleeves & collar the way he likes them, so he does it himself it they need it.

DH sends most of his out - they do laundry, light starch, iron, etc., w/his dry cleaning - it's actually pretty inexpensive. And what's nice is that this company picks up and drops off at our door.

The other solution is a garment steamer - no need to buy an expensive, big one; just a handheld is fine. Quick work.

By the way, my dh tries that trick, too - wear it and the wrinkles will fall out. Then when I say something, he puffs up his chest to show me how it happens. Uhhh....no.

i hate to iron...so i just don't do it. My MIL gave DH a bunch of wrinkle free shirts for his birthday and now I don't feel so bad about not ironing. I just have to be sure to get them hung straight out of the dryer ad they look ironed!

BTW she got them from lands end.

Never iron! Not unles it's a rare thing. DH does his own if he feels it's too wrinkly. I figure I do enough by washing line drying, and folding hisclothes. If he doesn't like how I do something, I tell him he's welcome to do it himself from then on, lol. He's never complained about laundry.
