I love the Frebreeze suggestion, thanks.

All I do for the floors use white vinegar and water. I keep it in a spray bottle and just spray it on and wipe off/dry with a paper towel. I keep one bottle in the kitchen for the kitchen floor and bathroom floor and a bottle upstairs for the floors up there. I will try adding the tea tree oil though, when my dh is around and I use it all he does is complain about the vinegar smell.

I have a question about the powder you put on the carpet and then vacuum up. We have a bagless one now, can you still use the carpet sprinkle? I would think so since you still empty the container but I wasn't sure.

I pour some white vinegar in any pot/pan that has some stuck on food and it comes right off, no scrubing at all.

This isn't a home made product but I still use baby wipes for everything.

This really isn't homemade, but it will save you money. Read the back of a Lysol All Purpose Cleaner bottle. It says for general purpose use to dilute 2 oz with 1 gallon of water. I mix it in a spray bottle with about 1 oz and a half gallon of water. I use it to clean my counters and sink everyday and it can be used in the bathroom, too. So, I only have to buy a bottle about once a year! I love the green apple scent.

Mix in a bottle:

4 oz ammonia
12 oz alcohol
16 oz water

Leaves no spots.

take a sheet of fabric softener and put it in a baked on pan (food crusted to it) and leave it over night. It will take the food off the pan.

I have a book called "Clean your house with pantyhose, and other uses for name brand goods."

It's great.

I just want to say add that 1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water will kill most bacteria, including the parvo virus (in dogs and cats) and that mopping with this mixture during flu season and cleaning countertops, faucets, etc, will help a lot to kill those flu and cold germs.

I have "The Queen Cleans Everything" book and the two tips that have always worked for me is 1) vinegar as a fabric softener, and 2) if you get pen ink on your upolstery, dip a Q-tip in rubbing alcohol and dab it on the ink until it disappears. It's amazing. (Of course, test this on an unseen place on your own couch first before trying!)
