Hello Everyone! I could use your ideas/suggestions. I have burned popcorn in my microwave. I was sick at the time and cooking some for my kids, and being sick I didn't clean it out right away. So this is what I have done. the next day. I bolied water and wiped it out. used baking soda.....

My question is what else can I do to get the stink out. It is also stained yellow from the popcorn.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try putting a bowl with some water & a few drops of lemon or a few drops of vanilla in it & bringing it to a boil in the microwave. That might help.

I think it just has to go away on its own. I've burnt many a popcorn. I've tried the lemon juice and water, did not really work. I haven't tried the vanilla though like Susannah mentioned.

Try boiling vinegar and water in there.

Also if you crumple up newspaper and let it sit in there overnight it is supposed to help too.

My sister did this at my house while babysitting, we could smell it as soon as we pulled in the garage! Good luck!

It's the worst smell! I have to admit, when it happened to me once, I just threw out the microwave! LOL!

You can clean the inside, but the yellow stain won't come out...at least in my experience, it just wouldn't budge no matter what I tried!

Yep, I got rid a microwave for that same reason! After 2 years and trying EVERYTHING to get it out I was tired of my reheated dinners having a tinge of burnt popcorm flavor.

That is the worst smell ever! I don't think I ever burnt mine as badly as some people the smell usually disappears within a few days!

I was also going to say put a bowl in there w/ water and some lemon squirts and let it boil....that should do it...it worked for me.
