Alrighty - our garden are in full force, and most everything should be/or should be almost ready for harvest. How are things going for you? Still keeping up on those weeds? Are you reaping GREAT rewards??

Mine garden is surprising me. As most know I had totally given up on my tomatoes. Well they now have come back in full force with fruit on each plant. I will lose some (as I didn't cage or stake them), but am just happy that I was able to bring them back. My corn ears are flourishing and about ready to pick. Of the 50ish stalks I planted, there are only 2 that didn't produce. My peppers, zucchini, and cukes are coming out my ears. My sunflowers are HUGE (about 10ft tall now) but still no heads . I was hoping to try to harvest sunflower seeds. I think next year I will need to plant them earlier in the season (they were kind of an afterthought). Lastly ~ my girls are so psyched about our pumpkins. We can only find 3 so far, but when they say allow room, they mean ALLOW ROOM! I have them planted on one end of the garden, and they have vined all the way to the other end (30ft ). It will be fun, however, to run out to the yard to pick our own Jack-o-lanterns.

The weeds have taken over. I finally got them under control, and lately have just given up. I am still able to harvest, and would surely get more rewards if I got my butt out there, but just can't. I have to say I think I am ready for "summer" to come to an end...not the nice weather...just summer.

Please update us on your area soon!

I've seen some errors in my garden - I planted my green beans, cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes next to each other ... and now they're all growning together and I'm having problems finding things. My bad.

I also totally need to weed but with the hornets being so bad right now I hate to take the baby and the 3 year old out with me.

My tomatoes are turning red but our hot weather is starting to putter out as well. I have about a billion of them but we'll see. I also need to pick my green beans and can some as well. As for cucumbers ... what I have is big and beautiful but I'm not sure how many there are. I also have six eggplants and I know at least one of them will be big enough to eat. My pepper plants ... I don't expect our season is going to be long enough for.

I'm already making plans for next year!
