Okay I’m not trying to hijack this from Blessed_with_6, but I think she’s at her mom’s house right now. If I’m wrong, please just tell me to butt out and I will. I need motivation to clean my house and these always help, so I’m sticking my head out and taking the chance that I’m not stepping on toes and will help someone else who needs a kick in the pants.

Grab a bucket, cleaner, cloths, empty laundry basket--- here we go!
Oh, and get a timer too. Set the timer for each task and try to finish before it goes off. You’ll be amazed at what you can do when you’re trying to beat the clock (practically the only way I clean nowadays). If you don’t have a portable timer, use your stove timer or be anal about looking at your watch.

1. Fold the load that’s done in the dryer and put it away!! (takes 2 minutes) When you’re in each room putting clothes away, grab all the dirty clothes and bring (or kick, in my case LOL) back to the laundry room. Now, load the washer. 10 MINUTES

2. Head to your master bedroom. Make your bed and pick up. Wipe down side tables and headboard with damp cloth or dusting spray. Take any dishware or food that belongs in the kitchen back there (if your husband is anything like mine, that is). 15 MINUTES

3. Make way to kid’s room. Repeat tasks from master. Take out any garbage you see visible. 15 MINUTES [Repeat with your other kids’ rooms if need be.]

4. Swap a load of laundry. Fold and put away dry load. 10 MINUTES

5. Time for the kitchen. Set timer for 20 MINUTES. Unload/load dishwasher. Wipe down countertops, table and stove. Wipe out sink. Clean off refrigerator of random outdated papers (do it quick, don’t think too hard about it!). Sweep floor.

6. Living room next. 10 MINUTES Gather all items that don’t belong in living room in the empty laundry basket. Set aside. Quick pick up. Straighten the area rug, lift and reset the couch cushions (you’ll probably find the phone or remote in there) and fluff the pillows real quick.

7. Straighten computer desk. Put all papers away (be quick), cordless phones on base, dishware to kitchen. Clean monitor if needed. Dust. 10 MINUTES

8. Dust living room (tv, entertainment stand/center, side tables, bookshelves, etc). 10 MINUTES

9. Vacuum. Living room to hallway, to all the bedrooms – get it all. Whip out the wand and run it along the wall/ceiling areas to get rid of cobwebs. 15 MINUTES

10. Bathroom. Save the ickiest for last. Squirt toilet bowl cleaner in toilet. Don those gloves and scrub from least to most gross: mirror, counter, sink, bathtub, toilet. Sweep floor. 10 MINUTES

11. Switch laundry over again. Fold, put away clean load. 10 MINUTES

Done. A little over 2 hours (at most) and your house is lookin’ good!

Thanks for posting! I checked this morning but saw nothing, so I did my own list (cleaned 1/2 lr carpet (its 15x27 so that's good), labeled dd's school supplies, cleaned off nightstands in mbr). That doesn't look like much on paper but the kids had to be kept occupied somehow. lol I will work on this list tomorrow.

Thanks for this list! I am a day late, but TODAY is really the day that I needed a kick in the butt. I have already done #2 and I can't believe what I accomplished in 15 minutes. My husband is going to be so happy to have all the excess clothes out of our room! Thanks again
