Have no idea where to post this, but my dog is driving me insane by ruining my carpets! And my daughter is starting to be mobile!!!

I have a two year old Pomeranian who has a doggy door and a nice fenced yard. He goes outside to do his business most of the time, but we usually find at least 1 poo per day within 5 feet of the doggy door. It is even worse when it rains because he pees inside too. We make him go out in the morning, when he gets out of his crate, but sometime in the evening or the morning he slips one past us. Any idea for getting him completly potty trained? Should I reward him whenever he comes in the house - or is this sending the wrong signal? Do I need to walk him out each time - I don't know if I have the time or the patience for this since I know DH won't do it.

Are Pomeranian just known for being hard to potty train? My friend has Poms and she had a difficult time with this too.

All i can say is YES you need to take him out. Set the timer for every hour and take him out. If you leave him on it's own at two years old he's going to go where ever he wants to.
