I was digging around in my garden today and I realized I had made a couple of mistakes with my garden. One of them was I planted green beans, pole green beans, cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes all next to each other. While this seemed like a great idea back in the spring and it did work with my guide of what plants do well next to each other, it also caused a lot of problems. Actually one big problem; the whole area has grown together! I have a squash plant pulling a tomato cage over even! And I believe that my pole green beans completely grew at of their sticks and have done in the cucumbers for that side! It's insane!

I realize not to do that again next year! But other than that my garden is great! I'm very pleased overall. With it being a new spot and with the baby coming I really didn't expect it to produce as much as it did. Also my spaghetti sauce is coming out beautifully -- and almost all of it was from my garden!

I know I'm not the only one on this board that is relatively new to gardening - so did you learn anything about what to do and what not to do this summer?
