I have always loved Halloween! This will be my oldest DD's last year to trick-or-treat and she wants to wear a featherd mask that just covers her eyes and a black leotard type outfit. My other DD changes her mind all the time so we will probably take her shopping for her costume in October, and my DS is only 2, so I still get to pick out a cute costume for him probably something from the Disney store. My MIL always buys the kids their costumes, which is so helpful, and very nice!

Yup, started thinking about it a couple of nights ago. I started another thread for some help on party ideas. I want to have one that includes the kids, but then hopefully they will go home to sitters and let the adults continue on.
Not sure what I'll be yet. Gotta think about that one!

Every year since we've had kids (except for the first year, my grandma made a costume for DD1) we have gotten clearance costumes after halloween is over with. Last year we went to Target and got a few new "princess costumes" because I know those are always a hit in this house. DD1 will be sleeping beauty this year and DD2 will be Cinderella. At least for their "fall festival" at our church they will be...and for their school party too. I will have to figure something else out for actual trick or treating, because it will be too cold here to wear dresses and all that.
Noah is going to keep on with our family tradition of being a "cucumber" for the first year of halloween. My grandma made the cucumber costume before DD1's 1st Halloween. It's warm and cozy! I'm going to have to convince her to make us another one for the twins first halloween.
I am going as a pumpkin if I go at all. It was my SIL's costume last year when she was preg. It's a good costume for a preg. woman!

I keep lobbying for DD to be a pirate this year but she says she wants to be a wizard. I can make either costume.

Then we see those fancy $40+ costumes in the stores (like at the Disney store - ouch!) and she starts drooling over the pretty, sparkly, fancy, dressy ones. Come on! A homemade costumer is so much better.

If DD won't be a pirate, then I will.

When my husband was on a trip this summer he picked up one t-shirt that read "Thing 1" and a baby bodysuit that said "Thing 2"! We'll do wigs and some sort of tights! Logan will only be four months old and I'm not sure how he'll handle it but I know I'll get a picture out of it! Liliana will love it - she loves The Cat in the Hat.

Knowing my oldest, he'll probably want to be a witch...it'll be the 3rd or 4th year....at least it's a cheap costume!

DS2 and 3 I haven't even thought about yet....or #1 for that matter. I'm sure we'll think of something. I really hate having to spend money on costumes. I did find a couple at yard sales this summer that may work for #3 and #4, but not sure about that yet, either.
