Do your kids know what they want to wear for costumes? Have you started making or looking for them yet?

My youngest wanted to be Ariel this year but now she is saying that she wants to be tigger. My oldest is starting to get to that age where I don't think she should be trick or treating too much longer!

However- I am so excited that Halloween will be coming soon- I am this close to pulling out all of my Halloween decorations!

I am thinking about it. I am hoping Disney has a big sale soon so I can get a costume cheap. My dd would really like one from their. Pretty much any one would do. I like to keep them for her and her friends to play dress up with too.

I did buy a chef's apron/hat/spatula combo at Target when they had their toy clearance for only $2 so someone is going as that.

believe it or not, this was just keeping me up this morning. Trying to find an inexpensive way to meet all the girls needs of what they want to be (not to mention trying to steer them in the direction of a BIG costume so you can shove a warm coat in there :P).

I am hoping that I can reuse some from the past again, or make something with the fabric I already have. I haven't even ventured into asking the kids what they would like to be.

I guess I have it easy this year. The big kids are just about too old...my ds just likes handing out the candy here. My oldest DD might do something with her friends around the neighborhood, but who knows. And the baby well, she doesn't know any different yet...LOL.

Family Fun website has a lot of great costume ideas and directions. We were some interesting things growing up. I vividly remember wrapping battery operated lights around my sister, who dressed up as a Christmas tree. I think DS is going to dress up like a lion. I want to have a costume party for DS this year, as his birthday is Halloween (he'll be 3). I gotta get a move on that.

Two years ago after Halloween, I was in Pamida (picture a very small Wal-mart, for those of you who aren't familiar) and they had costumes 90% off. I picked up a ton of stuff in all sizes for less than I would spend in one year!

I figured that with four kids (and DH and me occasionally attending parties) it would get used. So, it's just a matter of going through the closet and picking out a costume. Of course, we have used toys (pirate, cowboy, etc.) to create costumes, too. They haven't started talking about it yet though. But, they haven't been to any stores lately to see all the "spooky" stuff!

I hadnt put any thought into Halloween until I went into my Pamida store today. Kids costumes were as much as $30!!! Ouch. times like these I wish I had some talent and could sew.
