Does anyone have agood craft idea for soda bottles? I need one that would be good for preschoolers up to 3rd. Preferably with stuff I would have around the house. Thanks in advance for your ideas!!!

A friend of mine has made these and the kids love them. You can use the 16 oz. bottles or 2 liter but only fill 2 liters about 1/2 way.

Find little trinkets like (safety pins, ribbon, buttons, barrettes, coins, bells, marbles etc)

Then put them in the bottle, fill the bottle with birdseed, sand, (whatever kind of filler you want). Attach a card or label to the bottle with pictures of the things you hid in the bottle. Then the kids have to shake the bottle and find the items. This is a great "keep the kids entertained in the car activity" too!

MAKE SURE YOU DUCT TAPE THE LID ON THE BOTTLES

Something I have been planning on doing with my dd is make an ocean!
Take a soda bottle, clean and rinse and remove all labels. Fill bottle half way with tap water. Add a few drops of food coloring. You can add a little bit of glitter or perhaps seashells, etc. Fill the rest of the bottle with vegetable (or mineral) oil. Glue around the cap (make sure it is dry) and seal. For added protection, you can use hot glue around the edges.

When I was little, my friend and I would fill a soda bottle halfway with water and put a couple drops of dish detergent in there, then pop a Monopoly house in too, close the lid and swirl it around to make a tornado. You keep the base of the bottle down, on your leg for instance, and sort of steer it by the top/cap area making circles. This creates the most well-formed tornados

you can also make "sensory bottles". You fill the bottle with oil or Karo syrup and add confetti and glitter. Then, when they shake it or move it, it moves REALLY slow!
