Sorry if this has been brought up recently but I am having a problem with my walls getting dirty from grubby little hands and feet! What is the best way to clean walls and not leave water streak marks? If I wipe them down there always seems to be streaks. I know that the best solution would be to keep the kids from touching the walls but reality thinks otherwise.

I've used the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to clean my walls off. They don't leave streaks, but if I rub too hard it can leave rub marks that can be seen if the light shines on the wall just right. If you wipe the wall gently, then you may not get the rub marks.

I have done Mr Clean Erasers but for small marks like marker. Can you get them wet? And if so are they still effective? I have smudges lumped together all over.

I found this link for you:

Howstuffworks "How to Clean Your Walls and Ceilings: Tips"

There's instructions on here for a homemade solution that you can make to clean your walls. If you decide to try it, let us know how it works.

I usually wet my Magic Erasers. For me, that's the only way they work well.

I use the Mr Clean erasers...love them. I also go around with a warm rag with a little bleach that works well but for the hard stuff Mr Clean Erasers just don't scrub to hard as said above oh and you need to get them wet.

That's a good tip Starlite, but some people can't deal with ammonia, like me. It takes my breath away no matter how ventilated the room is. Mean Green is great and can be used on ANYTHING. They sell it at Wal-Mart, Fred's, etc...........

The only way I use my Magic Clean Erasers, is when they're wet...

For marks on walls, I use an old T Shirt usually and Fantastic. For some reason it works really well for me and better than the Magic Clean Eraser...some tough spots I might have to bust out the eraser, but otherwise just Fantastic for me.

BTW I do wet the eraser I was just wondering if it is ok to submerse it. THanks!
