Anyone use them?

I've never used them before but supposedly there are some you can buy that you can carve? I'm wondering if it would be worth buying some as 'fillers' for our front steps to go along with the real ones that the kids carve. Once those ones start to go bad, I can still enjoy a 'pumpkin' (albeit a fake one! ).

I know Michaels has them, and I believe Hobby Lobby does too. I'm thinking about getting some and having DH carve them instead of the real ones that start to rot almost immediately. I would think in the long run, they'd almost pay for themselves. And since you can get little battery powered tea lights to go in them, you don't have to worry about someone getting burned, or if they would get knocked over, causing a fire.

I've seen those at Michaels, but have never seen one carved... does anyone know if it looks real? Or does it look fake/cheap? I thought about getting one in the past too!

I've never used one, but a friend of mine did. Her ds had to do a pumpkin project for school, so they bought an artificial pumpkin to use for the project. She said it worked out great.

I have a bunch of them that I mix in with the real ones. They look great and I also use them inside the house because I wouldn't want any real ones in there to rot.
