I thought I'd try posting a once-a-week cleaning challenge for everyone. This will be a task you can do at any time during the week. I might even do a reminder-type post on things around the house that need to be performed by a professional. I'm going to try to gear these for the season, but they may be something that's not seasonally related.

For this week's cleaning/organizing challenge, we're going to take a look at everyone's fall and winter clothes. Although for a lot of people it's still 90 degrees outside, the cooler weather will soon be upon us. This week, plan on going through everyone's clothes, finding out what fits and what doesn't, and seeing what they will need for the cooler weather. This includes coats, hats, gloves, etc. As you go around the house, bring a box or a bag with you to put in unwanted/outgrown clothes. Make a list of what everyone needs so you can keep an eye out for sales. At the end of the week, take your unwanted/outgrown clothes to your local thrift store or prepare them for consignment.

This is such a great idea! Thanks!

I took 2 loads of outgrown winter clothing to the consignment store back in August but have several more to go (they only allow 50 items per appointment). I have been procrastinating making another appointment, but now have that at the top of this week's to do list.

I'm trying but it's HELL! It suddenly got cold this week. My three kids have so much dang stuff that I have to pack away summer to pull out fall. So I'm trying to figure out what will still fit each kid for next year and pack it away, made piles for a garage sales, made piles for donation, pick what of my older daughter's clothing that I want to keep for my younger daughter and pack it away for two years from now, and then pull out all the stuff I had bought last year for this winter and get it organized. They each already have a full winter wardrobe for last year clearance shopping but I need to make sure I don't have any areas to fill in. I know it's not pants for my little guy, I just found the 49th pair I had packed away with more to go through. HELP!!!!

I have to frequent this forum more often cause this is a great idea. I will do this with my sons' clothes while I dig out the clothes for the newborn!
