I don't normally take the dog anywhere in my car, because he just sheds so much and it gets ALL OVER the place! Somehow, it's not as bad in Dh's car.

Anyhow, I had to take him in my car yesterday and when I got home, I decided to clean out the back...rubber gloves work GREAT to get fur off uphostery and carpet!

So while I was in there, I did a deep clean. Cleaned all surfaces, the windows, the carpet etc Dh takes care of the cars, but he doesn't really 'deep clean'. The car looked so good last night, I wanted to kids to run along side when I took them to swim practice.

I feel we're all set for winter now!

Something else I did, that worked out great, was I used our power washer on my car mats and they look brand new!

I need to deep clean the interior of both of our cars. Dh's car is 7 years old, so his car could really use a good scrub down. My are is only 6 months old, so it's not too bad.

Thanks for the tip on the floor mats!

Yikes speaking of carpet we have a stain in our van's carpet and I don't know how to get it out. I tried scrubbing it with Dawn didn't come out. Other than that I think our vehicles looks good (inside and out) I normally do the car washing and the cleaning on the inside. I can't keep up with the house but believe me our vehicles gotta be clean. Might as well live in it

One thing that I do to help keep dog hair out
of my van is to put the seats down and cover
them with old sheets. It gives them a "perch"
and keeps the upholstery clean. My dogs LOVE
to get a car ride.

My dog weighs about 90 lbs. and loves to have the entire backseat of the van to himself. I also think rubber gloves work great to get off all the dog hair. I do that, then vacuum, wipe everything down with vinegar spray, and then use a little of the homemade Febreze (recipe from mommysavers : ) . . . and then, if I don't feel like hauling everything out to wash the car, I take it to the drive-through carwash. If I'm really feeling clean-freakish, I use q-tips moistened with vinegar to wipe out the airvents (my day used to do this).

Ugh, thanks for the reminder. I know I have to clean my car out. It's pretty bad.
