I need a good list of cleaning to do's! I want to get a good daily list, a weekly list, a monthly list, plus a yearly or semi-yearly! Things I never think to do...

The dryer repair guy just showed me how to scrub the lint holder with soapy water and a scrub brush. He said do it once a year.

Changing out the air filter - how often should I do it, monthly???

What else is there that I'm forgetting???

I just did this about a month ago so that
everything in my house would get clean
on a regular basis.

I change my air filter once a month.

Also, I included carpet shampooing, dog
bathing, thorough bathroom cleanings,
kitchen cabinet purging, ceiling fan cleaning.
......these are just a few things that I have
on the lists.

My idea was to get my house perfect after
one rotation, but I feel like I just chase
the mess...LOL...when my living room is
spotless, my kitchen is messy. When my
kitchen is spotless, one of the bathrooms
is messy.....I think I might give up!!!!

Ceiling Fan cleaning - good - but how often??

Carpet Shampooing - In the past I was thinking this would be a good quarterly thing, but I just did mine a month ago and it's already looking pretty bad! If you do it too much though is it bad for your carpets??

Daily I have... dishes, wiping down counters, sweeping & moping the kitchen, etc.

2 times weekly... I do laundry, vacuuming...

Weekly... bathrooms...

Oh - 2 times a year - change out the fire alarm batteries!

What else??

I have a website that can help put your to do list together. It will be a good start, and you can go from there.

FlyLady.net: Your personal online coach to help you gain control of your house and home

A lot of people use this site. She not only teaches you cleaning organization, but how to organize other aspects of your life.

I also like the speed cleaning tips from the clean team. Plus they tell you how often they do cleaning of certain items. They are a cleaning business and they show you how to get in and get out. Check out a book or video from the lottery. They sell cleaning supplies too. I like the mop. It has cloth pads to throw in the washer. There are also tools on there that you can get cheaper at your local stores.

The Clean Team. - Efficient Housecleaning and Environmentally Friendly Cleaners

Let me know what you think.

I can't pull my oven out since it's attached to the counter, but I can pull out my fridge. However, pulling out my fridge causes creases in the floor, so the fridge rarely gets pulled out. Who know's what's living back there!

My daily duties: pick up the house, vacuum/sweep when needed, dishes, laundry, make bed, make meals. Aside from laundry (b'c that's a here-and-there through the day thing), it takes me about 20 minutes to do my daily duties.
And here's my schedule for weekly focus cleaning. I set the timer for 30 minutes to do these. Sometimes it takes a little longer (if I have to wash floors), sometimes less.

OUR BEDROOM -- MONDAY
q Straighten closet

q Clear side table
q Strip/remake bed
q Pick up floor
q Wash window
q Straighten dresser
q Vacuum

q Clean microwave
q Unload/load dishwasher
q Dust window ledge photos
q Wipe down sink
q Straighten under sink
q Wash top of stove
q Clean out/wipe down fridge
q Sweep floor
q Wash floor
q Wash throw rugs

THURSDAY ~ DAY OFF!
- MOPS group

LIVING ROOM -- FRIDAY
q Straighten media cabinet
q Straighten closet
q Straighten bookshelf
q Toys into Elijah’s room
q Couch cleaned of clutter in/under/behind
q Wash window/door windows
q Straighten desk top
q Straighten shoes
q Dust

BATHROOM -- SATURDAY
q Change/add kitty litter
q Straighten linen closet
q Switch over laundry
q Fold/put away laundry

I have heard of the flylady before and liked what she said about doing dishes and 21 days to form a habit, but got a little sidetracked and never implemented it fully into my life!

I think I'm gonna try again - well, kinda - I'm still working on my own list & zones, etc - but I'm gonna take the principals she's outlined on her site and try to make them work for me!

THANKS coolmamacat!

I just found this the other night... thanks to Organized Home | Clean house, cut clutter and get organized at home!

It tells you what to clean and how often... set up like the periodic chart of elements! I plan on printing a copy and putting it somewhere...

Here's the chart:

http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple...ning_chart.pdf

I'm not very organized but hope to be someday!!!!
