Ok, I'm still on my cleaning kick and am trying to simplify it all!

I know I've read a list of MUST HAVE'S before, but I don't know where. I remember someone saying they knew someone who cleaned houses for a living and they say all you really need is...

Am I confusing you?? Basically I want to know what cleaning supplies will do double duty? What supplies are MUST haves? If I was to put together a SMALL bucket of supplies, what would it contain??

TIA!

Hmmm...good question. I have a caddy that I keep my supplies in usually, and it always has in it a sm spray bottle of straight vinegar (when I need full strength), a sm spray bottle of vinegar & water (windows, shower walls, countertops), a sm spray bottle of bleach & water, my bottle of liquid Lysol, Spic N Span or Mr Clean...whatever I have at the moment. Then I have a soft rag with lemon oil on it that I keep in a ziploc for polishing wood. Oh and swiffer dusting cloths, those are always in there.

Then I also have things like a toothbrush for cleaning those hard to reach areas, different sponges, a sqeegee, a scrub brush, Magic Clean Eraser, Goo Gone...

I have no idea where I read this, but I remember reading an article years ago saying that some good, basic cleaning supplies to keep around are:

- a product that cuts through grease, like 409
- a disinfectant cleaner
- a glass cleaner
- a cleaner for scrubbing, like Soft Scrub
- a product for dusting/polishing

I believe there are products out there now that disinfect and shine, so the disinfectant/glass cleaner can be combined. Also, there are wipes on the market that shine, disinfect, and are streak-free, thus eliminating the need to use a roll of paper towels.

Oregano is very organized and gave some great advice! I'll be interested to see what else people can add to the basic cleaning supply list.
