I used to save all my Martha Stewart Magazines and when we moved this past spring, I recycled them. It was over 10 years of Martha Stewart! A TON of magazines, but you know, I hardly ever went back thru them and all the info is online anyhow!

I get a lot of magazines, and I take several with me to every swim practice. I read them, and then either give them away to someone at practice or throw them in the recycling bin at home.

When my kids were small, I used to get two different parenting magazines and then a good friend of mine got two and we'd just trade when we were done reading them and that worked out really well.

Matt was just on me about this. I save mags for a long time. If I don't get back to them in a year, then I pitch them. I am bad about thinking that I will use some of the tips, recipes, decorating ideas, etc. but then I forget about them and they just gather dust. Lately I've been taking them to the teacher's lounge at work to share with others.

I don't save magazines. I have a large, three-ringed binder that I use for saving individual articles, so if I read something that I might want to refer to again in the future, I just tear it our and put it in the binder. I take the magazines to my dd's school to be recycled.

You sound like me. Even my kids gripe about the magazines I keep. But then I'm a hoarder by nature...need to work on that. I also always think, well I'll go through and clip the recipes etc THEN throw them away. Aww....being a procrastinator is a hard life

I save all of them, but not for later reading and I only get three a month. My kids like to do "magazine clipping" projects where they cut out pictures and paste them on paper to make a collage. It's fun for them. We like to do different themes, seasons, things we like, things we don't like, all the colors, fruits, veggies, things like that. After they get all of the good pics taken out of them, we use them for starting our fireplace or we recycle them.

I also am anti clutter, but my mags are neatly organized in a closet. I usually take a hand full when I go to the hospital. The other day I thought about donating them to the local womens shelter or girls home, I just got to look up how to get in touch with them. I just cant throw them away.

I admit I do save old magazines in hope of going thru them another time and rereading the articles but lets face it - I haven't done that yet. Maybe some day - (it was actually on my to-do list last weekend but didn't get around to it).

However I am planning on starting a lending library at my daycare. That way once I am done reading the magazine I can pass them on to my daycare parents.

I save them until the next one comes in the month. Then I recycle them. Any tips I read I keep in a notebook and recipes I put on a card in my recipe box.
