Do you like it?

I have a Hoover that I've had...gosh, over 10 years, can't recall when we got it. It's still going strong. I need something for stairs though. The upright is just too unwieldy.

I do have a small canister vacuum, I don't recall the name but it's SO LOUD, it just hurts my ears. I'd like to ditch it and find a good small vac for stairs, the car etc

What do you have?

Dyson Animal ball. It has a great wand. I have stairs, too, and I'll actually vacuum the stairs now that we have the Dyson.

We have a Dyson too. It is awesome! I vaccuum every other day and I can't believe how great it is on stairs, floors and picking up pet hair.

An Oreck. I love it. It is so light for toting up and down stairs and it comes with a small canister vac for stairs and cobwebs and such. You can't beat a 20 year warranty in a vac nowadays!

I've had a Dirt Devil Sensation for over 12 years. It's seems to do a good job. I'm not using it right now because the is belt broken.

I have a vacuum called a Fantom; I have no idea who makes this. My dh brought it home when they were shutting his company down. It's one of those bagless jobs and it's so heavy. It's OK, but I'm not thrilled about it.

I've had a Dirt Devil canister vac for over 17 years. I usually keep it out in the garage for vacuuming the cars. I think something might be wrong with it -- when you go to unplug it after you've been vacuuming for a while, the plug is too hot to touch.

I have a Eureka Quick Up vacuum that I use for my kitchen and bathroom floors. I have occassionally used it on my carpet and it's done a good job.

Sheesh I have a lot of vacuums! I probably need to trade some of these in for one good vacuum.

My mother-in-law has a vacuum with a dirt sensor light and I loved using it when we stayed at her house. I don't know what the brand was, I could never find a brand name on it. If only I had a few hundred dollars to spend on a vacuum...I would be in heaven, lol.

I have had 3 vacuum cleaners in the last 6 months...so cheap is NOT best!! I am currently using my parents Oreck while they are out of town, but have to return it soon and will have to go buy one for myself. I have ruled out an oreck because I would like one vacuum with attachments, instead of 2, but can't decide between a dyson ($400) or a hoover ($250). Hopefully some of these posts will help.

My dream vaccuum is a Dyson, but for now I have a Kenmore - it is OK. It has an attached hand held unit for doing the stairs that I thought I would like, but acutally hate it because you still have to lug the vaccuum with you, and it doesn;t really get into the corners...
