I often wonder how anyone with a Few kids at home has an immaculate house AND well behaved Happy kids!! LOL - I only have one at home most times and I still have to Be QUICK and Not do things how I want to do them 1/2 the time.
Also If you have any other hobbies How Do you find time to do those too??
I Know how I do it ....
I DON"T do anything I really Like to do I read at night sometimes but Other hobbies are a thing of the past - Other than the internet throughout the day.
But as Far as the cleaning/ organization and Daily chores go .... I get them done cause we have lots of videos, DVD's, toys , books , snacks and A naptime that allows me the time to do anything ....
I hear alot of ppl say their kids DON't watch TV - or that they play with their kids all day ,,,.,
Yet how do you get the necessities done??
I do Play with my 3 Yr old and we do go out to fun places.... it just seems for the most part I am cleaning up a mess, or baking , or cooking a meal, paying bills , doing wash , Cleaning the toilets

Today was my day that I just could do nothing but clean. I do do fun stuff with my kids, but honestly, I just needed a day that I wasn't working and my older 2 were out of the house to get some stuff done.
I agree, I don't know how other people get stuff done, my house is in a constant state of chaos. Sometimes I just let it go to spend time with my kids doing stuff, but then there are days I just can't put it off.

Any of my "major" cleaning like, bathrooms and floors are done during my son's nap times.
I usually have him watch a tv show when I make dinner though.
I try to play with him during the day times, but sometimes I just get worn our from playing trains!!! I really like taking him places like the parks and different fun places, as well as play dates.

My kids do the same thing that my dh does while I clean.......watch me. No, it just depends. I do a lot when they are asleep at night or at school. If it is when they are home, I make them help me; pick up toys, pick up dirty clothes to the laundry room, etc.

During the week if we get going I give them chores they think its FUN picking up toys (I set the timer they race it), dusting I give them a sock to wear and let them dust. They love to clean the window in our foyer door. A few paper towels or newspaper and they are happy, amazinly they do a good job. Josh love the vacumme (sucker thing as he calls it) I am leary on this one but trail behind him so its safe enough. Now you all may think Child labor but another favorite drop some comet in the toilet and let ds clean away with the scrub brush, he thinks the bubbles are cool! On big cleaning days for the bathroom (small) they play in the play room. Also they love sorting socks during laundry days and underware I save the big Mopping time when they are down for nap. Still my house always seems cluttered but its small and at point I have 5 kids here so I no longer let it bother me I try to remember what my great grandma would tell my grandma (super neat freak cleaner) a house is to LIVE in not just LOOK at!

Well, when DD1, DD2 and Noah are all here it's almost impossible for me to clean unless DD1 and DD2 are watching a movie. It seems like they are CONSTANTLY dragging things out as fast as i'm cleaning another mess up. The girls are getting better at picking up after themselves, but it takes a lot of "I'm going to throw it into the put away box if you don't clean it up!" For us, the put away box is the box things go into and then it goes into storage in the garage for a while. They don't like that.
When DD2 was younger I could NEVER clean bathrooms or floors while she was awake unless DH took her outside or entertained her...because she always followed me around and messed things up as I was cleaning. She made 5 times the amount of work for me! Now, she's getting old enough to know "stay out of the kitchen when I'm doing the floor, or stay out of the bathroom when I am cleaning toilets and bath tubs".
DD2 has now gotten her own chores. So, if I'm cleaning and she's at home, she seems to be helping me out a little.

My dd is in school during the day now so I get most of my housework done then. However, when she was little or when she's off for summer vacation, I clean house while my dd is busy watching TV, playing on the computer, at a friend's house, or messing up a room I just cleaned.

I am so glad that I am not the only one. I have a 3 yr old 16 month old and 1 month old and never seem to have a clean house anymore. Well my husband says it is clean but that is a mans idea of clean. Before my second dd was born I would clean while they watched their show in the morning but now I use their TV time to nurse or shower b/c I can't get up as early as I once could. I also tyr nap times but I usually only have a 1/2 hour to clean cook dinner and pay bills. Oh well like I keep telling myself this too will pass. Like everyone always says they are only little once, and if people judge you for having a messy house well then they have never had kids or they were really far apart in age.

When I am in the kitchen cleaning, my children are in the livingroom making a mess. When I move into the livingroom, they head into the kitchen and undo what I did. There is 5 of them and only one of me. The cleaning never ends here
