I like them!

I only send them sometimes. I try not to do it a lot because they have such a bad reputation.

I like them but only for people that I don't talk to that often anymore. Yes, some people brag and I just roll my eyes and move on.

I did see one crossword puzzle one year -- that was kind of a cute idea. They filled out the questions like, "Who started kindergarten this year?" The only problem was they didn't leave an answer sheet and we really didn't know which of their kids did start kindergarten! So if you do something like that make sure you leave an answer key, especially for those people that you haven't spoken with in some time.

We do not send one. I do a photo card with various pictures of our girls.

We get a few that are cool and some that are painful to read. I do like getting them.

My husband's cousin sends one that is well written and enjoyable to read. They have 5 children and we see them every other year.

My MIL writes one that is HORRIBLE. She has 2 children and 3 step children, a bunch of grandchildren. She half hazardly writes something about each person like 'I guess Joe's family is still ok' - NO JOKE! Why bother? She also gives details about their vacation which included getting a new fridge.

I have gotten one from a friend and she brags a lot about her kids anyway. I was thinking of making one for my far-away relatives but I'm not sure what to put. We don't do much....

I have sent one out the last two years, and I will send one again this year. I keep it short and sweet. Its one sided with lots of pictures, with little blurbs about what's happened in the past year with our family - pets, baby, new house, etc. So far everyone has said they liked it, especially the pictures, so I'lll stick with my current format and keep sending them.

We've never done the Christmas letter. None of our families do this type of thing either. We have received them occasionally in the past, but not recently. Of course, it may not help that I don't send out Christmas cards anymore.

I love them!!! We do send them out because the kids are small and we like updating everybody about them. We usually get some e-mails afterwards from friends we have not heard from in awhile so it is definitely worth it for us.

I'm not thrilled over the Holiday letters. We lost someone last year and not long after the funeral we received our first holiday letter. That was tough reading it. I wanted to send it back with my own little note on how my year was going great too until our happy little world came to a halt... Not that they are not entitled to be proud of their family, but I just felt that a simple card would have been more appropriate for us that year.

I like reading them, even if it's to laugh at them. We didn't do them last year because we would be sending baby announcements soon after the holidays. The year before we just did a simple card with printed phrases of fun things we'd done and that had happened that year. I don't know what will happen this year.
