I must admit that I send one every year. I don't think I brag...I just give a overview of the things we've done over the year. The letter is sent to relatives and friends that we have not seen (or have seen very little) during the year. When we receive a card from someone that we haven't seen for years, I respond, "well, at least we know they are alive." But that's all I know. Without a letter we learn nothing new about them. I guess the point of the card is to send holiday cheer, but a few personal words would be appreciated. I love the letters we do get, and I hope they keep on coming!

I usually do a short and sweet one. Most peoples are good, some are a bit over board though.

I like a general overview, but I don't want every detail of the last year. We've received some that are several pages long and that is just silly.

We seem to add a new child every year, so for us a picture is worth a thousand words!

I send some out. Not every year but most years. I try not to brag too much about the kids. Honestly I am known to send a different letter out to the inlaws. That way if we have done something grand I can make sure they know! We live in the same town and they are strange. They have been seen driving by slowly then parking on the street, then checking out, the lean to dh built or what color we painted the house. Our teenage dd caught them. LOL So if I can rub thier nose in something ( dd's hair is growing back nicely after six months of oral chemo) I will do it. Yeah, sometimes I am really evil.
