I need some help! I have no idea how to clean my coffeemaker. Someone mentioned using vinegar but I don't know how much to use. How do you clean yours, and how regular?

I clean mine twice a month. I use 3/4 water and 1/4 vinegar...I have a 12 cup coffee maker, so I usually fill up 3/4 with water and just finish it with vinegar. It works VERY WELL!!! Just make sure to do an ENTIRE POT of PURELY water after you do the water/vinegar pot. You must do the water pot so your coffee doesn't end up tasting like vinegar.

Yep...just use vinegar. There are all different formulas for how much water and vinegar to use. You really can't mess it up...so just use whatever concentration you want. I've even used just straight white vinegar, no water at all, had no problems. Just run a pot thru with just water to 'rinse' before making coffee.

We do the straight vinegar because our water is intensely disgusting (well). We clean ours when it takes over an hour to brew one pot - about every other month. We should do it more.

I'm going to do it now!

we use only bottled water because we have well water and i wont drink it. so i clean out coffee make once a month or every2 months w/straight vinegar
