The thread on litter boxes got me thinking about pets in general. Where do you keep all of your pets' items, (beds, litter boxes, cages, etc.)?

My family is currently petless right now, but I'm thinking about adopting a cat (or cats). I've been a cat mommy before, so this is nothing new to me. While we've lived in our current house, we've had 3 cats. This was before our dd came along, so there was plenty of room for all of the cats' items (mainly the food bowls and the litter box). Now, things have changed and the place that I used to keep the litter box/food bowls has something else in it now that can't be moved, and I have no idea where to put their things. This lack of space for their items deal is holding me back from getting a cat(s).

Our dog is pretty old and can't do stairs anymore, so he just has a bed on the first floor, in the family room. When he was younger, we had a bed in the basement (with his crate), first floor and then also the second floor. He eats in the laundry room.

Luckily, we've always had a basement and that's where the litter box has always lived! I couldn't deal with it upstairs! The cat(s) have always eaten in the basement as well.

Our litter box is in the bottom of the linen closet in the bathroom right now. I know that may sound gross, but there isn't a door on it so it gets good ventilation. Her food is in another separate spot in the bathroom. we have a tiny house, but Geisha is a teacup kitty so we're all good.

When we had Abby (our puppy) at our house, her cage was under the kitchen table, and her food was next to the garbage can. She has since moved next door to my in-laws house because she was tearing up our garbage at night and didn't have any room to be put outside when she had to be.

Litter box is in DD's bedroom. The cat is attached to her and lives 90% of her life WILLINGLY in her bedroom. Also, it is DD's job to clean it and if she refuses to clean it every day then I can shut the door and only her room will stink. She actually informed me the other day that "since the cat has a little butt, she cannot poop that much so she should only clean it once every 2 weeks so we do not waste plastic bags!!" I told her to be quiet and clean it.

The dog bed is by the woodstove in the living room that they hardly ever use since they are either on the couch or our bed. The dog toys are in a basket in the LR and the dog food is kept in it's own kitchen cabinet with a pullout system since we go through 70lbs a month.

The cat sleeps whenever and wherever she likes (a bed or the couch, usually). Her litter box is in the laundry room, but her food is in the master bathroom where the dog can't eat it all. The dog's bed is in the living room in front of the fireplace, and his food is in the dining room/kitchen table area.

I have dogs. We have a bed in the kitchen area and one outside. They are indoor pets but spend their evening outside (weather permitting). All their other things (shampoo, extra collars, meds, etc.) are kept on a special shelf in the garage.
