Yikes, does everyone have a set place for their tree? Last year we moved at Thanksgiving time, so we just set the tree up right away. Well, the space our tree was in was easily filled with furniture. I went to set the tree up today and had to get creative!!! My 2 younger boys now, temporarily have an overstuffed rocker/recliner in their room They think it is great.

We rearranged today too. We think about where we want to put the tree and how tall it should be, then we go buy a tree and make it fit! This year wasn't too bad, we just moved the outside toy box that is usually in one room to the adjoining room for the holidays.

In order to make the tree last until Christmas, we have to keep it away from the fireplace and heater vents on the floor. That limits us to one corner of the living room . . . so we have to move furniture out to the garage every December!

Fortunately I don't have to put any furniture into another room. I just drag our recliner a little closer to the TV and move our floor lamp to another part of the living room. It's a little tight, but it works out OK.

Oy I'm not looking forward to this year's furniture mambo to fit the tree. Last year I had to empty the living room closet to put my bookshelf inside and then put everything that was in the closet back in around/on top of the shelf. This year I have to do the same thing but I don't know where I'm going to put the stuff in the closet, as it is bigger items that I have no other storage space for. Oh, and I have to jimmy the closet door open b'c the handle has been missing for months now.

Our big screen tv that takes up an entire wall is in the shop and we won't be seeing it for SEVERAL weeks...so I put our tree there!

DH about paniced but I assured him when the tv returns we'll move the tree... And when we do it'll be crammed in the corner between two pieces of furniture!

We may have to move some things this year. Last year we too had just moved, so the space was still open. We have a couple options...in the dining room where it's open already due to rearranging for Thanksgiving or the family room, which would mean moving things.

We are hosting Christmas Eve for family this year, so I think I may opt for the family room, otherwise it's too out of the way.

Ah, the joys of decluttering! Because we're going to list our house to sell soon, our real estate agent insisted that we remove a few pieces of furniture from our living room. We have all the floor space in the world to put the tree now.
