Time to fess up - do you have a junk drawer? Or two? Or a junk closet? When I was growing up, my parents each had one (my mom's was always crammed full, my dad's near empty) and I vowed that I was never going to have a "junk drawer". Now that I'm in a place of my own, I have one in our bathroom with random bathroom stuff in it, but I hem and haw as to whether it's really a junk drawer. It's got things like bandaids, jewelry, hydrocortisone cream, bug spray, etc in it. Sometimes I catch myself wishing for a junk drawer - but one that is ORGANIZED. I want some place to put batteries, matches, cords, but I want to be able to find them easily. What's your take on it all?

I had to laugh while writing this because the scene from Friends with the guys finding Monica's junk closet keeps replaying in my mind over and over.

Haha!

I don't really have any junk drawers, dh's dresser seems to be the catch all for everything! Our top drawer on our desk also seems to be a catch all, but its like tape, pens scissors and stuff like that. I organize these things about once a week, but it doesn't seem to help.

I do and my husband wants to take the whole thing and dump it! As unorganized as it is, I pretty much know where everything is and I'll never get rid of it!

We have a junk drawer in our kitchen, it has all sorts of things in it - random screws/bolts/nuts/nails that no one remembers what they go to, one glove that we can't find the mate to, a few keys that no one knows what they go to.

We don't really have one...the closest thing we have is the kitchen desk drawer but it's really just a lot of pens, pencils and notepads and that's it. Other things, I actually just put away. So if I find nails, screws or anything else that someone doesn't know what it goes to - I put them in a jar on Dh's workbench. I don't think he's ever needed to use any of them though! LOL! I should just start throwing them out.

I have "junk" drawers but I have them organized. I bought those little plastic sterlite baskets from walmart that fit in the drawer. I seperate things as best I can. I also have a plastic shoe box where I keep all batteries and the battery chargers.

I use a dollar store vase for pens & pencils as well as my scissors. It sits out on my desk. Empty baby food jars hold my tacks, nails, paper clips, etc. My drawer was a mess but I cleaned it out. It's still a junk drawer but now I can find things.
