My sister was teasing me today because I heated up Dh's plate while I was making his breakfast. It's just something my Mom always did for my Dad and I continue doing it myself for my Dh. Her Dh makes his own breakfast though...

I have 'warming' station on my stovetop...so if I think of it, I will warm up our dishes before serving dinner. It's not necessarily something I do on a daily basis but I have to say that it keeps mashed potatoes nice and hot when they're not hitting a cold dish!

When I have a dinner party I warm the dishes almost 100% of the time and I chill the salad plates.

I'm a DORK! LOL!

What about you?

I have never thought to warm or chill the plates......we are a family of 9.....I wouldn't even know where to begin with having to warm/chill so many.

If it is something that makes you happy (and your family) I say to go for it......who cares what others think!!!

I have never thought of it either. Of course paper plates don't warm or cool well and that is what we usually use!

I worked in a restaurant for years, but I've never even thought to do this at home! We're having boudin with peppers and onions over rice tonight...I'll heat up DH's plate and see if he notices, if he does I'll do it more often

I always warm our plates. Our cupboards are freezing and our meal would be cold in no time. I just pop them in the microwave.

I've never chilled them though.

I like my water in a cold cup. So I have not plastic bottles that I keep in the fridge already filled with water. 8 of them actually. But No I have never tried warming/cooling plates.

That's a great idea and I don't know why I never thought of it before. Great idea.
