I've always been a backyard gardener, but am looking to expand it to a bit more this summer. I am thinking about growing asparagus. I know that you have to grow it for three years before you can harvest it, but am not sure if we will be in our current house in three years. Have you ever grown asparagus in a container (ie big plant pot that I will be able to take with me when/if I move)? I haven't done a whole lot of research on it yet, thought I'd see if anyone here would have any advice.

I'm also thinking of growing lettuce and onions for the first time this summer. This is my first year with a REAL teaching job, so I will have the entire summer to devote to the family and the garden (hopefully in that order)

I have no idea if that would work, but my mother in law is an experienced gardner and she has asparagus, so I will ask her. I will probably talk to her today or tomorrow, unless someone else has any idea?

Whenever in doubt about container gardening checkout You Grow Girlâ„¢ - Gardening for the People -- I know I've listed this site many times but this woman is like the queen of container gardening. She has so much information. I use her a lot and I don't even container that much anymore.
