Ok, we have 6 feet in our house... and we have like 18 ( I just counted ) pairs of shoes lined up not so neatly by the door. What do I do with them? Get a bench and throw em in? We cannot take them off and take them to our room as the sand is horrible...

Where do you store yours?

mind you, I am the woman of the house and I only have 3 pairs out of that 18!!! something is wrong with this situation lol

I had this same problem. We have 10 feet in our house! I found one of those large shoe racks on Freecycle and hung it in the garage (which is the main way we enter and exit the house). I have a rug near it as well as a small step stool so the kids can easily put on and take off their shoes. This is mainly used for the kids and also DH outdoor work shoes.
The sand and dirt stay in garage and I sweep it out once a week.

My shoes and DH shoes are in our closet. Good luck!

Another idea is to use a toy chest with a lid and toss them all in there (repainted and repurposed, of course) or my daycare provider used to use bread trays that bread came in off of the big delivery trucks. I'm not sure how she obtained them, but the children always managed to get them in the tray nicely and neatly. Hope that helps a little!

I took an old bookcase and put it by my garage door. All sneakers and flip-flops go there and dress shoes go in our bed room closets. I used to just have a basket, but I like how much neater and more organized this looks.
