I am trying to find a laundry detergent/ dryer sheet combination that will keep the clothes smelling fresh for a long time while in the drawers/closets. I usually do gain and bounce but that seems to fade really fast lately. any ideas?

Not so sure about detergent, but I have heard that if you use liquid Downey (or similar) on a face cloth in the dryer with your wet clothes, the smell lasts. This is in place of dryer sheets, and all you need is a tiny bit of Downey...

Hmmm I'm not sure, I do know if you take a dryer sheet and put it into the drawer itself that keeps the clothes smelling fresh for months (I use 1/2 a sheet per drawer) not sure how that little trick would work in a closet though...

Tide holds it's scent for a really long time on clothing (maybe a tide/bounce combo?)

In my linen and clothes closet, i use cheap air freshners like the renuzit that you can get for 97. I always have tons of coupons for them so i can get them pretty cheap.

I use Gain and LOVE it. I think it smell great for awhile after use. I do not use the dryer sheets- maybe do it without using them and see how it goes.
My neighbors always tell me they love when I do laundrey as they can smell it as they walk by
