Our school is having a fundraiser dinner where they will be auctioning off items that each class make. We are thinking of doing a recipe book with all the kids favorite recipes, pictures of hte kids and little notes written buy the kids.

I'm not sure how i should do the actual book though. Should i make it like a regular book or make it some how differnent.

Has anyone ever made a book like this before.

It has to be nice enough that someone would want to bid on it.

The only idea I can come up with is to do it like a scrapbook divided by child instead of divided by main dish, dessert, etc. Have a picture of each child on a page. Hand out a questionaire to the class about their favorite color, food, game and maybe what they want to be when they grow up or what ever to include on this page, then scrapbook the recipes that that child submits on the next few pages. I think a little history with a recipe is nice if it is available. Each page could be put into a page protector and then placed into a decorated binder. I am not a scrapbooker so I am sure others here have better ideas as far as that goes but I would certainly bid on a recipe book from my child's class!

Honestly problem is that most of our class won't even be there probably. Last year only two couples even went from the Kindergarten class. So i hate to do a ton of work and not have anyone even show up!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

If it were me, I would get a 3 ring binder with the plastic cover on the outside so you can slip a book cover into it. Purchase plastic sheet protectors w/tabbed dividers to go in the binder. Create a pretty cover and dividers. I think kid friendly recipes is a great idea. Maybe you could print the recipe out and then let them decorate around it. Slip the recipe pages into the sheet protectors.

I recently bought a binder style recipe book from church. I love it because I can also add more recipes in the back.

Glad to see you put a pic of bon jovi back on here. now, onto your question! my dh works for a local bank and he just received a cookbook full of recipes and it was sooooo simple! all they did was print out the recipes on 1/2 of a colored sheet of paper and put each one is a 3 hole punch and put them all together with those metal shower curtain rings. very inexpensive! just an idea! hope it turns out well.
