Default Storing extra linens...

I've been doing some organizing/decluttering of my linen closet. I've pared down a lot of our blankets/quilts. I can't figure out the best way to store them! They take up too much room in the linen closet. I was thinking of putting them in those storage bags and stashing them under the bed in the guest room. Does anyone use storage bags for blankets? Do they stay 'fresh'...

I have two bedspreads in those Ziploc extra large storage bags, and I keep them under our guest room bed as well. I also keep some extra linens in a blanket chest at the end of our bed and some in the linen closet.

Regardless of where they are stored, especially if it is for a whole season, I have to air them out on the line outside before I use them. They just aren't as fresh as I like them...they don't smell bad, but I really like my linens to smell good.

I read the tip: To keep whole sets of sheets togehter, fold the fitted and flat sheet and place in the matching pillow case. Keeps your closet organized and makes locating a matching sheet set really easy!!!

We keep our extra blankets in a plastic tub in the family room (since it's winter right now we can just grab one to sit on the couch with). Keeping them in a trunk or chest is another idea, or we also have a quilt rack that matches our daughter's crib. All her extra blankies, nice quilts and also mine and my husband's baby blankets hang on that.
I've written instructions on how to fold sheets perfectly into a nice little packet. (Here) We only have 1 extra set of sheets, but it feels so good to fold the fitted sheet up so nicely!

I use the storage bags for my blankets. I slip a fabric softner sheet in the bags so no matter how long they are stored, when you take them out they smell fresh!
