This is going to be repeated on Oprah today and tomorrow. I know some of us had missed the first run last fall. It is two parts and unbelievable!

Yeah, stories like that always fascinate me. I know that a lot of hoarders have psychological issues, but I always wonder how the spouse lets it get that bad.

My mom is a hoarder. Last year she had open heart surgery. I tried my best to help my dad sort thru the mess. We had made some progress but when she came home she didn't like what we had done and now it's basically back in the same condition. I give up because it stunk so bad that when I would leave I had bad headaches. The last time I visited ( I won't let my kids go over there) I got severely sick.

My mom really doesn't like visiters anyways so I'm not going to feel bad by not going over there. She could come visit me but she is sort of a recluse. I think my dad must love her to put up with that but I don't know if it's really love or fear that she may throw a fit if he starts to pitch anything. It's all too sad to see someone live like that and put their families thru it also. She cheated me out of a childhood. I was too afraid to even make friends because I worried that they would find out how I had to live.
